Army National Guard "Career" Series
Hooah Production Studios developed 10 videos for an Army National Guard (ARNG) compilation DVD. The DVDs were distributed in recruitment offices nationwide through a career rack containing DVD titles for each of the Guard’s career paths. The videos ranged from full motion graphics pieces to complete cinematic titles.
Our “College First” and “GED Plus Program” videos use kinetic typography motion graphics to convey their messages about education programs and benefits that Guard service provide. In this format, the words spoken by the voiceover narrator and other graphics appear on screen against a textured background. Combining visuals that inform and lead the eye through the text, narration and music, the videos effectively deliver their call-to-action to learn more by calling the 800-number or visiting the ARNG’s website.
The “Specialty Officer” video was shot on location at several ARNG installations to feature the opportunities available to medical professionals, lawyers and chaplains within the Guard. ARNG service members from each profession spoke about the career and personal benefits they’ve experienced. We coached the ARNG spokespersons, giving them direction in the use of Teleprompters and how to have a comfortable, confident on-camera presence and deliver lines in a natural manner.
Footage of featured service members describing the fulfillment they receive from practicing their profession in the Guard was edited to change perspectives, and vary from color to black and white to create visual interest and retain the attention of the audience. The testimonials also were interspersed with footage of actual work situations, such as field medical treatment, on-base law consultation and religious services.
“Guard 101” is a longform video that provides potential recruits with in-depth information about enlistment, training, and Guard life and culture through on-camera narration by three young actors who represent the diversity of Guard members. The video’s highly stylized look was designed to appeal to the aesthetic sense of its Millennial audience. Hooah Production Studios shot in HD on location nationwide, and used extensive green screen work.
