Army National Guard
Hooah Production Studios developed 10 videos for an Army National Guard (ARNG) compilation DVD. The DVDs were distributed in recruitment offices nationwide through a “Career Rack” containing DVD titles for each of the Guard’s career paths. The videos ranged from full motion graphics pieces to complete cinematic titles.
Among the videos was “Specialty Officer,” which provides an overview of three National Guard specialty branches: Army Medical Department (AMEDD), U.S. Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps, and the Chaplain Corps.
Our team traveled to the field location of Guard members, who spoke about the advantages that service as a commissioned officer has given them to pursue their career. Each officer directly addresses the viewer/potential recruit by describing his/her duties, and how the Guard has provided opportunities for education or gaining valuable experience that has improved their performance in the private sector. Stories are told in a way that also expresses the sense of personal fulfillment the officer achieved.
We shot footage of Guard officers engaged in “on the job” activities, such as transporting a patient via helicopter, working in a courtroom setting and conducting religious service in the field. Using a variety of camera angles and editing techniques keep interview segments visually interesting and fast-paced.
Hooah wrote the scripts in a conversational manner, allowing the Guard officers to connect with and engage viewers curious about these specialty branches. Our production team provided basic direction, resulting in a natural, comfortable delivery that conveys each officer’s passion for his or her calling and belief in the mission of the Army National Guard.
